I live a life of leisure on the island of Kyushu in southern Japan. No, it’s not close to Tokyo. I asked. I have two bulldogs, a husband, and a lot of hobbies. I have been tinkering with building websites since the GeoCities days of the late 90’s. Google it. I finally decided to learn how to code properly and now take classes with Free Code Camp and Code School. I also have a study group that I meet with regularly.
I used to work as an Office Manager for a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C. I moved the organization’s email system to Google for Nonprofits and automated the order process with Google Forms. I also updated the organization website by installing a content management system and redesigning the front-end. These changes made it easier for volunteers to communicate, fulfill requests for publications, and view available positions. It was a lot of fun putting it all together and a huge part of why I am learning new coding languages now.
