I live a life of leisure on the island of Kyushu in southern Japan. I live and go to school in Washington, D.C. I have two bulldogs. I recently lost the love of my life. His name was César. He was a 14 year old English Bulldog and the sweetest old man. Now I only have George to obsess over. We are making it work.
I also have a husband and a lot of hobbies. I have been tinkering with building websites since the GeoCities days of the late 90's. Google it. I finally decided to learn how to code properly and now take classes with Code School. I also joined the Women Who Code group in D.C.
I used to work as an Office Manager for a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C. I moved the organization's email system to Google for Nonprofits and automated the order process with Google Forms. I also updated the organization website by installing a content management system and redesigning the front-end. These changes made it easier for volunteers to communicate, fulfill requests for publications, and view available positions. It was a lot of fun putting it all together and a huge part of why I am learning new coding languages now.
